Holding Faith

One woman's spiritual journey through life, hanging on to faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the author and finisher and perfecter of that faith. " . . . that by them you may wage the good warfare, holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith . . . " (I Timothy 1: 18c, 19; ESV)

Congratulations!

Please join me in congratulating my daughter, Grace, on her engagement to Anthony Carter! Anthony has been courting Grace for six months, and finally asked her to be his wife on Friday night. We are thrilled that God has brought them together and they will walk down life's road side-by-side.

Anthony and Grace are planning a May 29, 2010 wedding.

"‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’. So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” --Matthew 19: 5 - 6

No Greater Joy

"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." ~ 3 John 1:4 (ESV)

Do you have children? God has blessed my husband and me with two lovely daughters, both of whom are walking with and serving the Lord.

God is presently doing a phenomenal work in my 18-year old's life. She is being stretched, challenged, and molded in remarkable ways as she responds to God's call to recklessly abandons herself to God. And it thrills this mother's heart. I truly have no greater joy that to know she is walking with her Lord, and to hear reports from others in our church of the impact she is having as she serves there.

"Let [us] thank the LORD for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man!
~ Psalm 107:8 (ESV)

Grace's New Mexico Trip

Would you take time to pray for my daughter, Grace, and the team from Open Door Baptist Church as they minister to the people of Grants, New Mexico? They left on July 4, and will be there until next Monday. There are several small groups, and they are running Backyard Bible Clubs and Youth Rallies throughout the week. Grace is being challenged as she deals with the other members of the team, and the children and teens she comes in contact with every day. She is also dealing with her physical afflictions - a kneecap problem and a very hard motel bed.

Grace was able to lead a young boy to Christ on Tuesday!
